2025 A Year of Bringing Ideas to Life
I've written previously (though I can't find the link) about how like to spend my time focused in one of three areas and tend to flit between them. Building, learning, and reading.
I guess some people would call it "continuous learning".
Building (Building websites, AI and XR proof of concepts)
Previously I've learned how to implement web, mobile, AI & XR applications, and created many websites to either share my learnings (such as VisualStudioTips.co.uk or XamarinArkit.com (the latter inspiring my first published book), or demonstrate proof of concepts (GoodyOrBaddy.com & IsChristmasTree.com).
I've published apps into app stores and attended over 20 hackathons (and ran a few) and built many, many side projects.
Reading (Reading books and writing reviews)
Over the years I've also read a ton of business related books, and wrote a few reviews of them.
Being passionate about encouraging tech IC's and leaders to read widely, I created GoodBusinessBooks.com as I truly believe that combining a good knowledge of a range of business topics such as sales, models, marketing, branding, psychology, strategy, management and leadership with real world experience is a great way of combining the theory with the practical.
I see a lot of people who concentrate too much on theory & knowledge with no practical implementation experience and others with a great deal of creative ability but lacking in theory.
Personally, I find balancing reading, learning and real world experience incredibly rewarding.
Learning (Formal education & qualifications)
As well as my BSc Computation, previously I've done lots of Microsoft exams and certifications, as well as a diploma in Diploma in Business Administration.
Most recently I've completed a Masters degree in Entrepreneurship Management and Innovation from the University of Bath. I am increasingly enjoying leveraging my deep knowledge of everything technical (cloud, web, mobile, AI & XR) to create products and services using well defined value propositions and devising business models.
What does 2025 hold?
I'm planning on focusing less on reading, and having spent the last two years completing my MSc Entrepreneurship Management & Innovation, I'm keen to get back to building and plan on concentrating on building some of the many, many ideas I have, both as Head of Innovation at Userware and in my own business Intrepid Future.
In 2025, you'll see me creating a lot of things ranging from AI, XR, web and mobile and I look forward to sharing them with you.
