Realtime Dashboard Part 1

At my place of work (Leasing.com) I have created a number of dashboards for my own situational awareness as Software Development Manager, many of which have been adopted by other parts of the business. In this day and age there is no excuse for not having operational and strategic figures at your fingertips, all in one place, available at a glance.

Personally, in my own spare time (evenings and weekends) I work on my own side projects, of which I have more than a few, so I've decided to create a dashboard showing Google Analytics data (both realitime and historic) using their simple API.

I created a similar realtime dashboard for Leasing.com so it shouldn't take long to create a similar one for my own websites.

Below is a mock up of what it could look like.. with some of the sites grouped together for brevity as otherwise this mock up would get quite long..

Note: Some of these sites are not live yet and are in various stages of development and some sites are not listed at all.

Hopefully in part 2 of this article I can share the code for the realtime dashboard and some screenshots of it in operation.

Do you have multiple web properties? Could a realtime dashboard be useful to you? Do you have all the information you desire at your fingertips?
