Venice May 2018

Last weekend, myself and the wife crossed a city break off the bucket list. My obliging in laws agreed to look after the kids for a few nights so off we went to Venice.

Here are some of the pics I took on my iPhone 8. Whilst I miss having a half decent digital SLR (My old Nikkon has an embaressing 6.3 Mega pixels) I was surprised by the quality of image I got with my iPhone.

It also reminds me that it's often the photographer, not the camera that makes outstanding photos. I often see people with the latest camera taking awfully composed photos. Anyway, rant over.

Hopefully some photos are shown below using embedded imgur.. not tried this before.

We absolutely loved Venice and were lucky enough to have glorious weather for the duration. I'd thoroughly recommend everyone visit Venice at least once.

At just over a 2 hour flight from Manchester, we found it to be a lot less busy than we were told to expect. We found the local people to be lovely, an abundance of places to choose to eat from and surroundings dripping with history and culture.

During your stay, i'd recommend a gondola ride, visiting Doges Palace as well as a private water taxi (speed boat) either to or from Marco Polo airport.

Venice easily earned a place on the list of places that myself and the wife intend on revisiting once we retire.
